Reykjanes is a peninsula located south of Reykjavík, it is the only place in the world where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is visible above sea level and it is known to be extremely volcanically active. It is where the last two volcanic eruptions took place, in 2021 in Fagradalsfjall and in 2022 in Meradalir and it is also home of the famous Blue Lagoon. Here you can expect to see extensive lava fields covered with delicate green moss, craters and scenic views that look out of this world!
