Located in Reykjanes, Fagradalsfjall erupted in 2021 for near 6 months and Meradalir erupted in 2022 for over 2 weeks. Currently there is no lava being hurled out of the earth, but you can still see the craters and the vast lava fields which once were valleys and now are lakes of hot lava cooling down slowly. The area is still active and experts believe there will be more eruptions in the next years, meanwhile you can have a glimpse of the magnitude of this incredible event.
